The Global Edtech Startup Awards (GESA) has crowned Israeli startup Storywizard as the winner of its competition. The startup won the award for its innovative use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of education. Storywizard was founded by Ofir Kerker and Nadav Yaron, who created the platform to allow parents and children to create their own bedtime stories using advanced AI technology. However, the potential for Storywizard in education quickly became apparent and teachers around the world began to use the program to develop educational tools in the classroom. The platform allows students to create complete stories in their areas of interest while following an educational framework set by the teacher. The program has been successful in increasing student engagement, as students actively contribute to the creation of the material. It also allows for progress monitoring and individual task adjustment. Despite being a relatively new startup, Storywizard has already won Israel’s Education Ministry’s digital content tender and has been integrated into hundreds of Israeli schools since September 2023. The startup has expanded its team with the addition of Ogden Morse, a US veteran EdTech entrepreneur and former teacher, as CEO, with the goal of establishing the company in the US education market.
