Federal Program: Democratizing AI Research and Development for All.

TLDR: The US National Science Foundation (NSF) has unveiled the National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource (NAIRR) programme, inviting researchers to apply for access to computing power, models, and datasets. Nineteen companies, including OpenAI, Microsoft, Meta and Nvidia, and 11 public agencies, including NASA, the defence department and the National Institutes of Health, are participating. The programme aims to democratise AI research and development by increasing access to AI computing resources. Through the programme, the NSF plans to build a platform for talent across the US. The move comes as interest in AI grows among businesses, with 79% of executives expecting AI to transform their business within three years.
