TLDR: Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) and St. Luke’s University Health Network in Pennsylvania have been using AI technology to improve patient outcomes and assist healthcare professionals in their work. AI tools implemented by LVHN have already shown success in diagnosing serious conditions such as blood clots in the lungs, collapsed lungs, and fractures in the neck area. Additionally, St. Luke’s has implemented AI-augmented CT scanners, which can produce faster scans, reduce patient radiation exposure, and detect lesion or tissue abnormalities. LVHN has also adopted AI software that generates notes for clinicians to review, as well as predictive algorithms to identify sepsis and potential cases of stroke.
