HSBC reveals game-changing plan for a carbon-free future.

1 min read

The HSBC bank has released its first Net Zero Transition Plan, following up on its 2020 commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 or earlier. The plan outlines HSBC’s strategy to achieve its climate goals and reduce the carbon emissions of its financed clients and projects to net zero. Key elements of the plan include improving financing in low-carbon transition projects, supporting customers with $750m to $1bn in finance and investment by 2030, and embedding net zero across its business operations. HSBC also intends to collaborate with governments and the finance industry to shape policies and standards conducive to the net-zero transition.
